Having strong thumbnails for your YouTube channel is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! More beautiful and branded thumbnails means more clicks, views and potential subscribers. Make sure you keep these 5 things in mind when creating your thumbnails.
Tip #1 for great youtube thumbnails: LESS IS MORE
Save your long phrases for your Title and Description, and make your thumbnail title short and sweet!
TIP #2: Big & Bold
Can you see the words from far away? If not, make them bigger. Also, I highly recommend to add a border around your title to help it pop out to viewers and get people to want to click your video!
TIP #3 FOR GREAT YOUTUBE THUMBNAILS: PUT THE TITLE ON THE LEFT
Make sure the title is on the left side of the thumbnail or else it will be covered by YouTube’s buttons.
TIP #4: PUT YO FACE ON IT!
This is one of my top tips for great YouTube thumbnails! A study at the Georgia Institute of Technology & Yahoo Labs found that Instagram pictures with faces were 38 percent more likely to get likes than pictures without faces…IT’S PSYCHOLOGY, put your face on your thumbnail…get more clicks!
TIP #5 FOR GREAT YOUTUBE THUMBNAILS: HAVE A UNIVERSAL THEME
Make it easy for your followers to recognize your videos by keeping the same font and 1-3 colors for your thumbnails. It should be easy for viewers to decipher your videos from other YouTubers.
